Friday, October 2 dates one of the fiercest MMA battles ever existed. Maximum Fighting Championship 22 Payoff will be held at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and will air live on HDNet hosted by Michael Schiavello. The fight card will be composed of UFC and IFL veterans which will whet your appettite for hardcore MMA action. Fighters like Jason MacDonald (21-12) and Travis Lutter (9-5), and a MFC Lightweight Championship bout between IFL veteran Antonio McKee (22-3-2) and WEC veteran Carlo Prater (24-6-1). The card will also feature former UFC fighters Luigi Fioravanti, John Alessio, Marvin Eastman, Pete Spratt, David Heath, and Mike Nickels.
The main event match up features Jason Macdonald and Travis Lutter both from the UFC middleweight division. This fight would be a battle between players hungry for a win as both of them were UFC dropouts so expect both of them to go all out. Macdonals fought 10 UFC bouts where he stood 5-5 and was cut out after losing his last two fights against Wilson Gouveia and Nate Quarry, all were first round finishes. Lutter’s history goes way back at UFC 50, 52 and 54. He also fought top cats in UFC 67 and UFC 83 against Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin respectively, both he lost. But his fight with Silva was one that the fans cannot forget, he was remembered to be the only guy who gave “The Spider” hell while they were both on the ground. That one fight is still considered as the revealing clue of Anderson Silva’s downfall.
