The previous record that holds the heaviest jicama in the world was from Indonesia that weighs 21 kilograms, but lately this record was surpassed by John Paul Garcia from the Philippine who have dug up a giant jicama (locally known as singkamas) at barangay Cabittaogan that weighed about 23 kilos.

John Paul Garcia told reporters that he won’t sell the singkamas no matter how much will be the offer because he believes that the giant jicama that he dug brings good luck to him.
