I got my Globe WiMax installed last week and I am satisfied with its speed until now, i got the advertised 1 mbps speed and which I am subscribed. Even though i unplug the outdoor antenna i still got 96% of the link quality which is only a 4% loss.

For me, Globe WiMax is far faster than my previous broadband which is the smartbro. I also have retired my old aging router because Globe WiMax uses it’s own router. So if you’re thinking why you can’t get connected when you connected Globe WiMax to you router it’s because two router can’t be connected, so if you want to share your Globe WiMax internet connection to other PC then you just need to have a switch.

So you’re setup should be like this BM266–> Switch –> PCs.

You can also access your Globe WiMax by typing 192.168.1.1 on your browser, then enter “user” for the Username and “user” again for the Password. Then under the Status click WiMax, from there you can see the signal strength of your Globe WiMax. As you can see in the above image, i got 100% link quality from my BM266.

BTW, i am subscribed to the 1 mbps which cost P995/month which is locked for 1 year which is better than the 24-months contract of Smartbro. But Globe WiMax has a 500 installation fee which is not to be pay upfront, instead it will be included on your first billing.
